STRADA
The wall was rebuilt in 1998 as the winter rains caused collapse. A test planting of various species of iris has proved successful - they are happy and no-one has stolen them - so we can now proceed to take them all along the bottom of the wall. The planting of ground cover rosa species in the gap between the hedge and the wall has been less successful - some you win ....
Left: April 2000. Pruning the bay hedge requires the assistance of some serious machinery - so we only do this every other year.
