CAMPORA TERRACES
We now start to come down the hillside. These terraces begin the other side of the strada as you come out of the front garden and driveway. The woods to the top of the pictiure are opposite the Bossolo Garden and Echo Meadow.
Rejuvenation began with a vengence in Spring 1998 when a lorry load of fruit and olive trees (about 50 of them) arrived one morning with a crew of guys asking "where do you want them?". I must admit I was thrown for a moment and had to stall for time while I tried to work out why they were there. Then I recalled a brief conversation I had had with their boss two years previously during which I enquired whether it would be possible to get some trees to supplement the few we had on the terraces.
Every season, without fail ... what has become to be known as "THE ITALIAN FACTOR" kicks in. Somewhere along the line, regardless of how well you think you've got timing for the seasons work planned out, it doesn't matter, you can never predict where or when it's going to strike, you can only guarantee that it will. It used to frustrate me, I'm no longer surprised, just wary when I get to the end of a seasons work and nothing has happened ... but wait ... here it comes ... "sorry madam your bags are in Milan"!
